Meet Shayla

Hi! My name is Shayla Landon. I’m a Licensed Massage Therapist, NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist, and the founder of Covington Athletic Massage.

My mission is simple: to help athletes and active people feel better, move better and perform at their best! As a specialist in pain relief, I help people with pain and injury conditions EVERY DAY.

I love sports! I’ve been active for as long as I can remember. I played basketball throughout my entire childhood and adolescence, and as a former active duty member of the U.S. Air Force, I spent 6 years working under conditions that created chronic pain and tension in my body. I’ve rolled ankles, strained hamstrings, sprained knees, suffered groin injuries, and I've even gone through the process of recovering from a torn rotator cuff. I exercise and strength train consistently, and I still enjoy making time to go to a basketball court every once in a while to work up a good sweat.

Why I Became a Massage Therapist

I understand athletes and fitness enthusiasts because I am one. This connection led me to become a massage therapist with the intention of specializing in pain relief and injury recovery so that I could support active individuals like myself. My dedication to being the best at what I do requires constant learning and education, so I earned a degree in exercise science and became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Corrective Exercise Specialist to better serve my clients.

I love serving the sports and fitness community, and I get so much joy from helping people maintain their active lifestyles and do what they love. When I’m not working with my happy clients, I’m somewhere getting a workout in, drinking a green smoothie with my head buried in a book, or binging on Netflix. (If you have any good recommendations let me know!)

Please feel free to contact me at so we can connect! I look forward to meeting you!
